I have the most loveliest kind and thrusting neighbours, Betty and Alan are an elderly couple who always have a smile and a kind word for people. Betty can often been seen feeding all the stray cats, including my own greedy cat poppy who sneaks in for seconds. Even though she has no pets she buys cat food to ensure the homeless cats never go hungry. Thats who Betty is, she cares, she has a huge wonderfull heart.

We recently had a bad storm, Doris. Betty and Alans fence was destroyed. The next day they received a knock on the door a group of work men saying a neighbour had asked them to knock and offer their services as they were also fixing his fence. The number of the neighbour they gave in works for the council so they assumed the men were trust worthy.

The men got to work removing all the old fence and discovered the soil was too damp too put the new fence into, so explained to Betty they would need to rent a cement mixer but to do that would need to be paid 1st and would reimburse them the money for the mixer. Feeling she had no choice as they had already taken down the old fence, Betty handed over £5000 which was apparently for a whole new fence, parts and labour. The men went away to get the mixer and never came back.

Betty and Alan are now left with no fence, the old fence piled up in the garden, no security for their home and the last of their life savings gone! Nothing left too hire anyone else.

These people purposely chose my neighbours because they were vulnerable and desperately in need of help securing there home. Betty even blames herself and was at first to ashamed to report it to the police. Am sure this is what the scumbags expected!

I would love to able to raise enough money to give these lovely people back their life savings and find a reputable company to help with the fence situation. I just want to see Betty smile again, it broke my heart to see her cry, no one should be treated this way, especially the vulnerable.
