"John Urmson is a member or the Royal Navy and was diagnosed terminally ill with Stage IV Cancer of the Oesophagus November 2015. He is 37 years old and will be leaving behind his wife and 5 young children between them! He has now just been faced with the harshest decision of his life since the cancer has spread again and he now only has very little time left!
He is an exceptional person who has always prided himself on helping other. For example, whilst he was on ship he went to help with the Philippines disaster and he was always helping his fellow colleagues and friends whenever they needed him, weather it was in training, general or emotional support.
He has always had an extraordinary way about him to make people laugh in the face of adversity and whatever the circumstances, this is his gift that only very few possess and he has touched many lives by sharing this with them"
In return for his contribution to society, the goal now is to grant John with a wish that he has always wanted! This is to take his wife to witness the stars at night whilst at sea. The Navy gave him this experience, which he is forever thankful for but his dream is to have his wife (soul mate) share this experience with him too.
I believe it is extremely important to make this wish come true!
John is due to start palliative treatment very soon and will become very sick from the side affects. Therefore the need for speed now is essential! We would like to try and send John and Lisa on a short cruise departing on a date between 07.03.17 and 15.03.17 to make this dream come true. Your help in making this happen will be invaluable and I recognise that you will do all do that you can, as this illness seems to be affecting us all now in one way or another! This taken in to consideration I feel that if we can possibly pull together to make this happen for them, it will be amazing! I am sure that John and Lisa will also be extremely grateful, humbled and overwhelmed by all donations!
