Story
Nathan is a 30 year old man who lives with his Fiancé and his 2 beautiful children Sienna 5 & Thiago 3 who have unconditional love for him!
Nathan was born with a medical condition called neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and in 2009 he developed a benign tumour on delicate neck nerves called a plexiform neurofibroma. This was partially removed in 2011.
Since his operation the tumour slowly growed back as to be expected with these types of tumours.
Unfortunately in 2015 his little boy Thiago was also diagnosed with plexiform neurofibromas in his leg which has caused his entire left leg to grow out of proportion for his age and resulted in Thiago having a leg length discrepancy of almost 2 inches and finds it difficult to be as mobile as any other 3 year old boy would be. While visiting Thiago's genetic consultant Nathan's tumour was noticed and he was asked to attend the next genetic clinic which was in July 2016. From there he was sent urgently for numerous scans and finally a biopsy.
He was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer 3 days prior to his 30th birthday in August 2016. Doctors told Nathan that he has a large advanced soft tissue Sarcoma (which developed from his plexiform neurofibroma) and that it is inoperable due to its size and location. They have said that a cure is unlikely as soft tissue Sarcomas tend not to respond well to Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy could possibly shrink the tumour but not enough for surgery.
So far Nathan has had Radiotherapy which shrunk the tumour temporarily but unfortunately we have found out he now has secondary cancer in his lungs.
We previously tried raising £75k for proton therapy but he is no longer eligible for this. So now we are hoping to raise £50k for 8 weeks of treatment at the Hallwang clinic in Germany where we hope will give Nathan his young life back so he can enjoy his family and hopefully get to see his young children grow up. Please help us by donating and sharing. Many thanks for your support!

8 years agoThanks again to all who donated and attended Nathan's funeral. The funding money as Nathan wanted is to pay for his necessary funeral cost and the rest for his children to inherit. Nathan was just 30 years old and left behind a 3 and 5 year old at the time he passed he missed his daughters 6th birthday by 3 days! He never got the chance to leave them much inheritance and he would be so proud that because of the kindness of everyone's donations they will have something to inherit from him ❤ so on behalf of Nathan Thank you all so much! 💖

8 years agoTruly can't believe it has come to saying this, after a cruel 5 month battle, Nathan my beautiful husband peacefully passed away early this morning in my arms! It's great comfort that he is no longer suffering but it's heartbreaking that he's gone too soon! Thank you to all that have supported his fundraising in every way that you can. His wishes were that if he didn't make it, that the fundraising pays for his funeral and anything left goes towards a future for his children Sienna and Thiago ❤

8 years agoUnfortunately Nathan had to be taken to hospital last night due to a deceleration in his condition. He is currently stable and staff are doing a great job at keeping him well. This has never been more of an urgent need to raise funds now. So please please please keep sharing and donate as generously as you can. Thank you all for your support and generosity throughout this difficult time!
