Hi all, this summer I will be running my first half- marathon to fundraise for my six week Volunteer Zambia and Sport in Action programme! As one of five students representing Durham University this summer, I will coach netball teams, lead community sports programmes and deliver school PE lessons in deprived areas of Lusaka.

The project aims to focus on the positive impact that sport can have upon impoverished communities which are often affected by high levels of unemployment, exclusion and health issues like HIV and AIDs. By encouraging young people to attend sessions, it is hoped sport can help develop motivation, self- development and self- reliance.
