Period poverty is a real and present danger.

Since 2015, Sanya and Sophie have been all across the country, collecting donations and raising funds for homeless shelters and women's refuges.

Every month, many homeless women endure a period without menstrual products. These women are forced into humiliating and often life-threatening situations without access to these products. The government does not currently give an allowance to shelters for menstrual products, although they do for condoms and razors for men. This further perpetuates the myth that our periods are a luxury. As a result of this, shelters rely on donations of menstrual products.

For campaign #11, we are supporting St. Albans and Hertsmere Women's Refuge . SAHWR aims to provide a safe comfortable, conflict free environment for women and women with children who are suffering domestic abuse. They give advice and support on available options so as to enable a woman to make informed choices, feel more confident and take control of her and her children’s lives and future. The Refuge offers just that, a refuge from abuse; a place of safety.

As well as our normal donation drive, very excitingly we are hosting our first ever ABGC Fun Quiz on April 27th to raise even more donations!
