This is an extremely vulnerable group of 42 Malawians who barely survive- living on handouts from the local villagers who themselves have very little. It’s a group of orphans and very elderly people who have lost their families through Malaria or HIV/AIDS. With Just Giving we have been able to buy the very elderly a mattress and a blanket, maize for many months for the whole group, that food has now run out. The few people who had tiny hand-built homes have recently lost them due to the recent storms. We are hoping to raise enough to rebuild their homes, buy livestock and tools so that they can become self-sufficient, which they would much prefer, due to their wonderful dignity, even under such hardship.
