    Story

Berkshire Vision is a local registered charity with over 100 years of expertise and experience in the provision of services, advice and support to more than 2,000 people across Berkshire who are blind or visually impaired.

Aktiveyes is a sub group of Berkshire Vision and is made up of a group of like-minded people who want to live their life to the full and not let their disability stop them having fun or getting involved in activities that others may not feel they could take part in.

They do a wide variety of activities such as pub quizzes, darts tournaments, comedy nights, crazy golf, tactile sports, walks and visit to places of interest. All of these events are designed to be fun, challenging and engaging.

There is one challenge which the group are keen to overcome and this can only be achieved through the support of our generous supporters…..Go karting.

Most visually impaired or blind people have given up on any thought of racing at high speed in a challenging and exhilarating way. Fortunately for us The Maidenhead Go Karting Centre is offering an exclusive night of go-karting, allowing all of our members the chance to get behind the wheel and challenge each other to a night of racing. For this event to be a success we do have to have sole use of the track to ensure the safety of our members. As the group are all visually impaired, only two cars can be on the track at any one time and those with no vision will be accompanied by a sighted Driver.

To bring this event to life and allow our fantastic group the chance to do something that they have only dreamed of, please sponsor our drivers by donating through our justgiving page.
