Hi. Im a 47 year old woman. I have been unable to work for almost 13 years due to illnesses. Before becoming ill i worked as a residential officer for Social Service working with Adults with learning difficulties. I loved doing my job, being able to make a difference & supporting was so rewarding. I became ill very quickly & was diagnosed with 3 illnesses within a 3 month period. First i was diagnosed with an Under Active Thyroid, then Fybromyalgia & finally Phoritic Arthritis. I quickly turned from a happy go lucky person to someone who on most days couldnt get out of bed because of how ill i was. I litterally could only walk a couple of steps before having to stop due to the extream pain i was in. My weight ballooned & I gained almost 10 stones. I was prescribed a hugh amount of medication to try & help with the excusiating pain i was in 24hrs every day. Day in day out i was in pain & I oftern wondered whats the point of carrying on. i could no longer do the job i loved so mych & spirraled into depression. I worked tirlesly with my consultants trying different medications but nothing worked. My arthritis consultant suggessted that i try a injection which i was to take every 2 weeks, he explained this is the last treatment we can try, as i had tried them all. After 6 weeks of injecting myself, I suddenly began to feel slightly better. I didnt want to think to mych of it as i didnt want to jinx it. Ive now been on this medication for 3 years & the difference in me is remarkable. I am still on a large amount of medication, however i no longer spend all day & every day in bed. I am able to walk more than a couple of steps. Most importanly is I dont think life isnt worth it, as of course it is. I have lost almost 7 stones which is amazing. unfortunatly due to the hugh weight loss, I now have so much saggy skin & the same with my breasts. I have been told due to me not being able to train in the gym the only option is surgery. I would be ever so grateful & humbled if you could donate a small amount to help get me back to how I was before these illness took over my body & life.
