Our daughter Amaya Amreen Monjur was born with a severe Cleft Lip and Palate. This meant that the roof of her soft and hard palate was not joined and neither was her upper lip. As a result of this, she is fed through a tube since birth. She will also be delayed in her speech and language and have dental issues too. In order to treat this, Amaya has endured several surgeries to fix the cleft.

Our little fighter has been through incredibly challenging periods in her little life, however we are immensely grateful for the opportunities and healthcare services available to us for free. She has an amazing healthcare support system around her, from referrals, to treatments to medication, we have never needed to worry about it at all. Amaya will be two years old in December, and has also just undergone her final lip surgery. In honour of this, we would like to celebrate this occasion by giving back. We would like to give other children with cleft lip/palate in deprived circumstances to be given the opportunity to change their lives and have this life changing surgery done.

There are thousands of children born with cleft lip and palate in Bangladesh every year, just like our Amaya, and it would be so wonderful to be able to actually make this miraculous difference to their lives. We would be so so grateful if all our friends and family could get together and donate a much or as little as they can and make this cause a great one, and one day show Amaya all the good work we did on behalf of her.
