We have a friend who is suffering. She is a girl who is so trusting, kind and caring, and has donated so much of her time to helping others, including one one man in particular who has used and abused her. For obvious reasons we wont be sharing her name or specific details of her story, but through no fault of her own she is now in alot of debt which has piled up amongst the cost of counselling and CBT, the result of such a traumatic chain of events. This is stopping her from being able to put enough food on the table, travel for work, and care for herself and her family. I have never experienced physical or mental pain through a toxic relationship but having seen what she has gone through makes it real enough and it breaks my heart that her and so many others will be going through this day in and day out. The dream is to put enough money together to pay off the small debts so she can focus on recovery and getting better. The money raised will allow her to continue managing her (his) debts whilst getting the support she needs discreetly. Life is so short but despite her efforts to cut it shorter, this journey will feel like a lifetime. Anything additional that we can raise will be donated to the MIND charity which has supported her no end in seeing light. MIND is an amazing charity supporting all victimes of abuse regardless of race, age or gender and although as her friends we can support her, they have been the rock throughout her ordeal.
