Since I became homeless, I have seen many homeless people in Worcester, Blackpool, and other areas. However, I feel they are not being supported enough where private landlords ,estate agents do not accept them due to having no money to pay for rent in advance, deposits, guarantor fees etc. I am looking to help not only myself but help as many homeless people in Worcester. There are 1400 empty homes in Worcester and around 175 homeless people who are not being supported by Councils due to rent arrears, misuse of drugs or other sociological problems. Homelessness is not a criminal offence, however from personal experience, WE are being treated as criminals due to asking for money in the street to survive and not always for drugs, alcohol or other misuses.
