    Story

    Fundraising overview

Cleaswell Hill School is a Special School for 172 children (designated age range 2-19). Many of their pupils have physical difficulties, medical or emotional needs, and others are identified as being within the autistic spectrum. Currently, the children must travel a considerable distance to access a hydrotherapy pool. We would like to eliminate the additional costs for transport and reduce the impact of the travel time on their education. A pool of their own would provide fantastic life enhancing opportunities for all of the children.

We have set ourselves a challenging target to raise £1,000. John Lonsdale, David Turner and myself will be walking the famous West Highland Way in May next year. The ninety six mile walk will be over seven days. We will be carrying all our equipment and supplies unsupported and will be camping the whole route. Upon reaching the finish at Fort William, we will be climbing Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis to complete our challenge. We will be posting photo's and some video's along the way so will be able to follow our adventure!!!!

We would be extremely grateful for any donation you could provide to enable us to reach our goal. No matter how small the sum, every penny counts and will go towards this fantastic local project.I fully understand that there are thousands of very deserving causes all desperate for funds, but this one is on our doorstep and it would be marvellous to give these local youngsters a facility that would make such a difference to their lives. My wife Claire and I have very good friends whose children have either attended this fantastic school or who have been affected by some of the conditions listed at the beginning of this page. With your help, we can make a real difference.

As some of you will know, my wife Claire runs The Hair Forum hair salon in Stakeford. If any of you lovely folk would find it easier to make a donation at the shop, official school collection tins and sponsor forms will be available. You can also make a donation by contacting any of us directly.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this page and on behalf of John, David and myself, thank you in advance of any help you can give.

Cleaswell Hill School is a registered charity (number 1000697).
