    Story

On Thursday 27 December Joanna Gardiner was walking her rescue Collie from Many Tears along Sand Bay's footpath on a lead, when Connie was savagely attacked by a lady's lose German Shepherd.

This gentle natured dog has been traumatised and requiring specialised treatment and pain relief on a daily basis. She will need reconstruction surgery later down the line.

Joanna is worried sick about the ongoing Vet's Bills which have already reached £3,000 and are increasing by the day. Unfortunately she has not got any insurance. She was just about to start a small home business, as due to recent government legislation she has not been able to retire as expected. The lady owner of the German Shepherd does not have any insurance, and is refusing to pay any of the Vets Bills that her dog has caused.

Connie means the world to Joanna as she lives on her own. Connie now needs watching constantly to prevent any further psychological or physical complications to the healing process.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope as dog lovers we can help Joanna with her Vets Bills, and Connie with her recovery.

Connie is very much herself in her head but a bit of a dumbed down version. She moves more than is good for her wound but there’s a limit to how much I can suppress her enthusiasm! 😬 The dressing stays on by virtue of sutering from anchor points in her skin then thru the dressing pad in a series of cross cross stitches. The open wound is now 8cm x 6cm and a complex 4 hour reconstructive op will be needed later on, and stillness for 2 weeks. All I want is for her to get her life back. Thank you all for your ongoing concern and care.. 😘
