Story
I am fundraising for The Black Women’s Project society at my University which I am Co-President for in the coming academic year. The Black Women’s Project is a society that aids the flourishing of black women within and beyond the university in every sense- from support in mental well-being to support in career goals and so on. We strive to support black women to “be well and do well”. We provide an important sisterhood and safe space for our members. This is done through a range of events: from ‘movie nights’ and discussion sessions, which give our members a chance to relax and share their thoughts and feelings, to ‘You Okay Sis?’ (a panel discussion focused on mental health) and our planned ‘Unleash’ conference (where influential black women come in & share important life lessons), amongst other events.
All of these worthwhile events require funding and so I (along with all other exec members) have the task of raising £100 (or more) by the 18th September. I will be doing a sponsored 20K walk to raise this money and would appreciate your contribution to the cause. No amount is too little and I would be very grateful for anything given.
Thank you,
Annice
