Archie was born at 31 weeks weighing 4lb 1oz. He was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit where he remained for the first three weeks of his life. At this point in Archie's life we wasn't aware of any underlying issues, it was only later on when Archie wasn't reaching his milestones that it become apparent that something wasn't right. After various tests and scans it showed that he had scarring on the brain and suffered a lack of oxygen at birth resulting in him having Cerebral Palsy. We are raising money to enable Archie to have a life-changing operation which will help his mobility for the rest of his life. Unfortunately this procedure called selective dorsal rhizotomy is not funded by the NHS which means we need to raise £50,000, this will cover the cost of the operation and intense physiotherapy. Archie is a funny, clever and kind-hearted little boy who deserves the chance to have this amazing operation. As his parents, we want to do everything possible to give him the best chance for the future and we believe that this operation will benefit him for the rest of his life.
