HI i'm Arwen. I've been given an opportunity to go to Cambodia for four weeks. The project I'll be working on will have a life-changing impact on the local community. It enables me to work with local communities to create transformational projects, meeting their needs and changing lives. I will be working on giving young people an education, building houses, healthcare and sanitation, food and water security, environmental protection and sustainable livelihoods. There will be lots of opportunities for me such as a 4-5 day trek through the jungle, setting up hammocks in the trees and working as a team to solve problems as well as adapting to change whilst moving through and around the country, undertaking a wide range of activities.There will also be opportunities to earn additional UCAS points through enrolment on and successful completion of the Certificate or Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) Level three award. All of this helps to demonstrate my skills in university applications and personal statements, on my CV and in interviews. This experience would help me to stand out from my peers and will give me experiences to pull from, memories to enjoy and reflect on, forever.
