Seven young dancers from a local dance school (ages 8 years to 14) in Crewe and Nantwich area attended English Youth Ballet auditions in Stoke On Trent. Auditions were held in two categories Juniors which consisted of 90 auditionees with Isabella from our group being selected down to the last 5 for scholarship. Poppy and Madison from the Seniors were also selected into the last 9 from 68 auditionees. All the girls did exceptionally well with such a high standard of young dancers but unfortunately did not secure the two scholarships on offer. As all the girls show marvellous dedication to the art form they love whilst having to fit in normal school work commmitments they are looking for any interested parties who suppport the development of the arts to sponsor any amount to enable them to accept the places with EYB. It would be such a missed opportunity of learning and further developing their dancing with EYB if they cannot raise the funds. The costs are £500 pp are for costumes, theatre production team/lightening etc and do not cover travel and no payment from ticket sales go to the children. The girls are looking for donations of half the funding and are hoping to raise the remaining funds to do what they love by cake sales, raffles and such like but have a limited window of two weeks to accept their places.
