Having spent both Christmas and his first birthday in intensive care at Birmingham children's hospital after an operation to help cure his rare liver disease failed, Michael is now back on the ward after showing unbelievable strength. He is getting stronger ready to undergo his next surgery.
Michael was born on 22 December 2017 with a rare type of liver disease called Portal Hypertension. Having spent alot of time in whitehaven hospital, he is now in Birmingham children's hospital waiting for a secons operation attempting to save his main portal vein to his liver. Sadly the previpis operation was unsuccessful and the second operation will go ahead once Michael is strong enough. Michael will be in the hospital for a number of weeks, which means a time away from his big sister and brothers whilst his mum Lauren and dad Chris are in Birmingham. If the vein can't be saved he will sadly need a liver transplant to save his life.

The hospital is over 200 miles from the family's home in Workington. Which means huge travel bills, hospital parking fees and unexpected accommodation costs.
Friends are now appealing to take one less worry away from the family and raise funds to support them.
