Hello, my name is Bailey and I’m a 15 year old student at John Port Spencer Academy in Derby. I’m fundraising £5,090 so that I can volunteer on a life changing 4 week school expedition to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands in the summer of 2020 with Camps International.

Whilst visiting Ecuador, I will experience issues facing the country and its unique wildlife. Our group will be working on projects to help the local community, wildlife and environment. We will help establish and maintain an ethnobotanical garden and tree nursery for the community to help reforestation and preservation of cultural medicinal knowledge. We will also help to build and restore local buildings with the community and help the school children.

Staying at Camp Amazonia will be a very special experience for me and I look forward to the chance to help the local community and learn new life skills. I can’t wait for the opportunities I will have and the chance to make an impact. I am planning several events to help raise money but any additional help from donations would be greatly appreciated.
