So.. i didn't want to put our life stories on here to ask for money, but i think at some point we all realise that we need help!! We appreciate any help that can be offered, even if its just some comforting words ❤❤
We need to raise money to start our family, a family that's been wanted, wished and begged for for many years. Me and Andrew have been seen by a gynae/consultant for 4 years now and for a year or two before I came off of birth control and the thought of having a child with the man I love seemed perfect.
After over a year of realising something was wrong I went to see my doctor. I had blood tests and scans and was told that I have PCOS ( polycystic ovarian syndrome ) however there is nothing wrong with Andrew.
We saw a consultant who ordered my HSG test ( where they check if your tubes are blocked ), I then went on to have clomid tablets ( which turned me into a dragon 😂 ). Through all of this, Andrew put up with me!!
I kept piling on weight and was unable to lose any of it so I was then prescribed metformin tablets for my insulin resistance and went on to have laparoscopy and ovarian drilling surgery. I did what I could to get pregnant.
Now, 6 years after the whole journey began, we're no closer to getting pregnant. We are now with a private clinic to help us to get pregnant, starting with IUI hopefully, if not then it'll be straight onto IVF.
I've given up my 20's in the Hope's of falling pregnant, I've cut back on everything that I can, changed my lifestyle and even so we only have a small percentage of falling pregnant with help. I hope that by sharing our story, even if you aren't able to donate, it will spread some awareness of infertility and PCOS.
