My name is Beth. I am raising money to expand my dog business with the hope to raise money and awareness for assistant and therapy dogs.

I have always had a huge love and passion for understanding the relationship between us and our canine friends. I started Bramblewood canine a dog walking company link back in 2016 and my knowledge and love for understanding dogs has grown astronomically. Not only is it important that we take the responsibility to insure these dogs have the best life but by doing so they can help create the best life for us.

My Story

I have a very personal reason for wanting to expand bramblewood whilst helping the awareness for assistant and therapy dogs. My own dog Besty has been a huge inspiration for me. Not only has she helped me with my own battle with anxiety, but she has also helped my father who suffers from Parkinson’s and dementia.

My father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at an early age in was diagnosed with dementia 2 years ago. Betsy has become completely in tuned to his needs and complex disabilities. She has learned to alert us to any movements or activities that he needs assistance with. She alerts us to any falls or seizures and will sit calmly next to him until myself or mother are there to assist. Her presence alone has a hugely positive effect on his mental state generally and it is remarkable to witness.

My sister Nicola is currently in her final stages of cancer. When the cancer spread to her brain last October Poppy came into her life. Not only has she helped her physically and mentally she has also been hugely life changing for her husband. She provides him with an outlet which he didn’t have before.

Other ways in which I am raising awareness for

I have started a blog called the Bramblewood canine heroes in which each week I write individual stories of care dogs and their owners or even simply the remarkable bonds between the owner and there dog.

I have also written a short film which will be shot in May of this year. It follows the life of a career and her canine campaign as we watch their daily life as they care for a family member. I hope to send it to festivals and towards the end of this year.
