Did you know, many families in Thailand cannot afford to support and look after their children, and they give them up to be looked after in an orphanage? Next summer, as part of a Girlguiding expedition, we are planning to go to Thailand to improve the lives and conditions of these orphans. Whilst there we aim to help improve the infrastructure of the orphanage that has very little to support itself on it's own. The children live in a very basic environment doing everything together. They sleep together in an open room on the floor with very basic mats. Flooding damage has created a need to make a lot of repairs, improve sanitation conditions and brighten things up after everything was left dark and dirty. We also have to opportunity to teach the children some English as although it is scheduled in to their daily lessons, the teachers only know little or no English themselves. The cost of the project is £2,500. I am also planning various fundraising activities including cake sales, quiz nights, dog walking and badge sewing, but I would greatly appreciate your donation. As I hope you agree this is an amazing opportunity for my team and me and also to benefit the lives of people less fortunate in Thailand. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
