Black Cats Mission....🐈🐈

Black Cat was born into a household with already 27 adult cats and 8 new kittens, 1 raging parrot, 2 dogs and a rabbit. There was a constant fight for food for them all. It wasn’t a nice environment for any kind of life.

We knew we had to help, I couldn’t leave... I’d arranged for cats protection to visit the household and help the family that owned all the cats and kittens 🐱 to find them all new homes, we couldn’t possibility take them all we did however, rescue the two most in need. Black cat and Ginge.

Ginge was this tiny little skinny ginger cat with really big paws, he was riddled with fleas , worms and an eye infection - however with good treatment, food and a good clean he soon thrived and was unrecognised he grow into a huge ginger Tom cat.

Sadly for Black Cat it wasn’t quite the same, we wasn’t sure if he was going to make it. He was super tiny compared to his siblings who already were tiny he was just so super tiny like a mouse. He was so cold.

He slept on my chest almost 24/7 for the first few days it was so touch and go. We took him to the vets straight away they had to treat him urgently, he was diagnosed with everything from flea infestation to a disease which affect the clotting of the blood, if we weren’t so determined and close to our vet I’m sure they would of pushed more to put him to sleep. He never gave up - he just needed a chance, he couldn’t go to toilet standing up he had to do this sideways. It was heartbreaking to watch - however we knew just a lot of love and warmth he could do it.

That was it... over night, he just started to get better and better he was on loads of medication each and everyday he just healed.

We had paid out over £3,000 which we didn’t mind as we knew we had no choice there was no other option.We have insurance but they wouldn’t cover pre existing or any born conditions, we actually took out an insurance which made out they would pay but sadly, the truth was we were misinformed. So there is no cover for anything other than something new that cannot be linked to a previous or born with condition.

Black Cat has done so well... he is the most lovable and friendly cat to every human or other animal he’s just so grateful and friendly ❤️ He just wants to constantly be loved and have affection. Everyone loves him especially his big cat bro Ginge.

Sadly, Black Cat went missing I knew the moment it turned 6pm and the cat wasn’t at the back door I knew something bad had happened .... I got my keys and went out looking 3 hours later nothing,

I started calling the council, warrens, rescues - I had people out looking - nothing. I cried all night.... 5am I went back around everywhere looking, I came across a lady who mentioned she had heard a cat crying all night behind her house but she couldn’t see anything - my heart sunk! I ran there I couldn’t hear a thing I just began calling and looking all over, I heard him! It sounded hurt, I found him just sitting on the ground behind a shed in the grass..... he’d been attacked by someone or something, the vet reckoned he’d been hit by a bat or kicked extremely hard in the back - his tail was broken, he couldn’t walk, he had a horrible wound to his back and his back looked broken.

We took him to an emergency vet! He was treated and put under. We waited 6 days for him to be allowed home. - they explained he had broken some bones but luckily they felt he would cover and that so would the tail so left it in tac. He was back on the medication due to his blood not being able to clot. We paid out a lot of money, again this was something that needed to happen. The insurance would not pay and made it clear.

His tail did not recover we contacted the vet but they wanted to charge us another £4,000+ for the cost of surgery and treatment - we had maxed out our credit cards, took out a loan and we just couldn’t afford to pay anymore we spoke to an independent vet we regularly use they advised it would be more as quite clearly Blacks Cats wounds to the back needed further treatment, he is a survivor and he has over come so much.

We are just at a loss.... we have tried and contacted everyone possible to help, cats protection suggested to reach help and see if anyone would be able to help raise funds to the cost of his treatment to make sure he gets the best and can make a full recovery from his injuries. We really want to do the best for him he needs this surgery and if we could do anything.
