Since arriving in Liverpool to study, I have been overwhelmed and saddened by the number of people I have seen on the streets. I want to donate to them, but being a student, I simply don't have the means to do so. With winter fast approaching and temperatures dropping, the thought of being out in the cold is less than appealing. In my mind, being able to stay warm is one of the most important things, preventing illness and providing comfort for those facing hardships within our society. Alongside fellow members of Liverpool Hope University, I plan to raise money by holding a charity showcase of performances by many of the talented students, as well as bake sales. I am starting this with the aim of raising £250 which would roughly be enough to buy 40 blankets. I will be giving these out throughout winter and anyone who would like to join me is more than welcome! :)
