    Story

To quote Michelle Obama loosely- Education is an equaliser and giving young people the ability to read, write and analyse can open doors and open opportunities. To solve problems such as poverty, to bring about equal rights and to challenge racial institutions, young people need the knowledge and the tools to not only be equal to but to surpass expectations. We have been given books to send to schools in Malawi and we are raising money to send them to young people who in some cases have libraries but very few books.

To set the context early this year we were given school books by a family friend of ours who worked with many schools in London. The books were kindly donated to us by schools in Tower Hamlets and they are for primary school and High School students. They include chemistry books, physics, history and maths but also fiction.

Si and I are running a half marathon at the end of August and would greatly appreciate any support in raising funds for transporting the books.

Sadly the family friend who worked tirelessly to get the books to us died a few months ago and we are determined to get the books she worked so hard to source to the young people that most need them.

Thank you everyone for your support. Si and I managed to run and complete our half marathon successfully (limbs very sore but still intact). We truly appreciate the donations and we are still in the process of sorting through the books then we will look to send them by the end of the year or early next year. We will keep you updated over the next few weeks. Thanks once again!!!

Great stuff you two. Well done. Any chance of slipping a copy of 'the call of the wild' into their library, one of my faves...
