Story
On Sunday 5th May, as they do ever Sunday, YMCA volunteers Ken and Barbara Rouse opened up the YMCA building on Park Street, Bootle. They discovered that in the early hours a burglary had taken place, with extensive damage to doors, locks, filing cabinets and theft of alcohol from the small community bar.
Ken and Barbara work tirelessly to keep the building running for the various community groups that use it such as the scouts and Bootle Action Group. They are both volunteers who saved this building from closure some years ago. They and the community groups that keep this vital amenity running did not deserve this.
Please consider donating towards the repairs and replacements that will no doubt affect the finances.

5 years agoA message from Ken and Barbara who run Bootle YMCA... Hello everyone, your support has been so much appreciated, and i have two things to tell you, first of all the two thieves have now, both been apprehended, and are in custody, they are prolific criminals, and i hope their eventual sentences reflect what they have done. As a thank you Asda have funded an evening for us to say thank you, and allow anyone interested to see around our building, maybe you went to school there or attended the youth club whewas, and still is in the YMCA.
