Weʼve raised £70 to brain injury camp 2019

Funded on Thursday, 30th May 2019

    Story

I am looking at fundraising doing numerous events to raise money for the TBINetwork's brain injury camp for 2019, I have attended this camp twice now and for a brain injury survivor it is invaluable, we learn so much about how to cope in our day to day lives, we have a safe place where we feel like everyone else in this crazy world we all live in, we know we won't get judged, we make friends from all over the world, it helps us in so many ways that I want to give back to help this camp go ahead.

I will be beginning with walking 10,000 steps every day of September, I may do another month next year of walking 10,000 steps but for now it's just going to the 1 month.

At the camp there is numerous workshops like support circles, arts and crafts, journalling and many more, there is something that everyone likes to do, and people get to try things that they might not get to do in their week to week life because of one reason or another.

The money would go towards paying some of the camping space, any new tents, air beds/mattresses and new chairs if needed, the food and any other supplies that may be needed e.g. arts and craft materials.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far, I have been able to walk 10,000 steps every day so far including today, I have ran in the bury10k last sunday completing the 10k race in 1 hour 22 minutes and 50 seconds and completing the family fun run shortly after finishing the 10k in a time of 9 minutes and 38/48 seconds as this wasn't officially timed like the 10k was. I am quite proud of these achievements and I'm going to carry on fundraising over the next 8 months doing various other events :)

I have started off the month of walking 10,000 steps every day in September by walking 10,320, I am proud of my achievement and I hope to carry on this throughout the month with walking more than I started with today :) Thank you for any donations towards a worthy cause :) x
