Story
We serve, we leave, we are forgot about... dry your eyes and soldier on...
I want to raise money for a project that will help Current and Ex Service Men & Women, PTSD Sufferers and all of their families.
I don't have a lot of money but I have a way to utilise my skills to benefit the amazing service men and women of the world who give their lives for their country, sadly, their country does not repay that debt after service is most cases so it's left to amazing charities like PTSDUK to pick up the pieces.
How I can Help Personally
I have developed a system that allows you to build and manage a website through a visual builder interface. So everyone and their mum can easily build a website. My system is called Dashbar. You can Visit Dashbar by Clicking Here
I want to provide this and free hosting to any Current or Ex Serviceman or any PTSD sufferer and any member of their whole family for only £1 per month. For only 1 pound per month they can build and host a website with Dashbar using the visual builder.
I will take care of everything they need to get online for only £1 per month.
I would do it FREE if I could but the £1pm is to hopefully make enough to allow the system to maintain its own future hosting costs.
The amount of £1445.18 is required to secure the dedicated server and hosting needed to run such a venture for the first year. The amount is exactly as I have been quoted by UKFast.
£1,204.32 + VAT = £1445.18
I have attached the quote provided blocking out my personal information.
So why Current and Ex Service Men and Women, PTSD Sufferers and their families?
Being a web developer I was contacted by a gentleman for a website, during the discussion he told me he was Ex-Services, I was quite amazed as these guys are super heroes! To help as he was ex service I offered him a rock bottom price that I could legibly offer, sadly this was too much cost for him and sadly had to deny my services, of which I then offered to fulfil any of his website needs for free, all whilst feeling disgusted at my government for allowing a gentleman who served for his country not even afford £500 for a website to create a better civilian life for himself.
I have a friend who serves in the British Army and spoke to him about this, he had some very touching and emotional words to say about it:
We serve, we leave, we are forgot about...no phone calls, emails... And that's why I'm attending yet another funeral of a lad who I served with, who took his life on Monday through PTSD... So as they say in the industry...dry your eyes and soldier on...so thats what we do...but some can't.
This is why I want to reach out to PTSD suffers also and give them another way to focus their mind, by starting a business they can channel their energy into a new venture, in some way or other, having a business to occupy your mind could somehow help, This is why I want to make it as easy as possible for these Heroes to get a website online,
Reasons They may need a website:
They may want to start a new business to otherwise occupy their mind, or even create a fundraising website if they are doing their own charitable work and need an online presence, I will also build templates into the system that will be ready made layouts for fundraising and other business ventures. They can even have a website if they just want to say to the world.
hello.... I'm still here!
If any of the Service Men, Women or PTSD sufferers families need a website for any reason, they would be welcome to use the service also.
Where will this all happen?
I have just secured a domain name which is called Web Artillery. I thought the name would have some appeal to Service Men and Women, so that there would be some familiarity instilled, just by visiting the site.
The website will be: http://webartillery.co.uk/
This is where you will eventually visit to create your account and build and publish your website. I am going to use the site currently to raise awareness of the project until I hopefully raise enough money to kickstart the project.
Thank you so much for reading and for any support given, whatever we do here together will do incredible things for the Heroes that risked and gave their lives for reasons good or bad, they faced horrors we could only dream of, lets give these brave men and women a reason for loving life again!
Kindest Regards
Brian.
