Hi everybody,

Sadly, my beautiful granddaughter Emmie who is 15 years old, was diagnosed with cancer in January.

Unfortunately she only managed 6 weeks of chemo before becoming very unwell. She got Sepsis twice, was ventilated 4 times, had numerous blood clots, 2 and a half litre of blood a day loss, a perforated bowel, a collapsed lung, over 150 blood transfusions and heartbreakingly this resulted in her having an above knee amputation - these are just a few of her complications!!!

Sarah, Andrew and Emmie have been in Manchester hospital now for over 17 weeks, and that means they have been away from their 2 amazing other girls, Kia and Evie.

Despite being so poorly and everything Emmie has been through in hospital, together with the fact that she has missed her last six months at High School with her friends who she has gone all the way through school with, missed taking her GCSE’s and, most importantly to every young girl missed her Prom, Emmie has continued to be an absolute trooper and warrior through this life changing time. Her courage and determination and that of her entire family is unbelievably amazing.

As you are probably aware this has been a life changing experience for all the family not least my granddaughter Emmie, the monies if raised will go towards new prosthetic legs as she grows, clothing and numerous ongoing problems which may arise.

Numerous events are taking place that will raise monies for this to happen. Rest assured every single penny raised on any event will be donated to make this happen.

Below is an event which is taking place on the 7th September at Burnley football Club, tickets can be obtained from myself or Ken Preston, or from Ighten Leigh Social Club, Padiham rd Burnley or from The Commercial Harle Syke Burnley. This event is a fundraising event for The Emmie Preston Rehabilitation Fund.
