While my friend's mum was visiting him in the UK, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit where she was operated on, but then complications happened and she has been in hospital for the good part of the past 4 months. My friend has not been working for the past 3 months to look after her and has signed to say that he will be paying the hospital fees. The fees are estimated to reach £60,000 and the sad reality in the UK, is that most, if not all of us are in a constant financial struggle although we are all in decent jobs.

I would like to try to help my friend pay off part of the hospital fees, but I thought that the help of many people will be much better than the help from one person. I am sure that since Ramadan is nearly here a lot of us will be giving Zakah and I am sure that it is not always easy to know where to give Zakah and where your money will go. I would like to reach out to you and ask you if you were going to give Zakah and do not know where to give it, that this may be an opportunity to help someone in dire need.
