Dogs and Cats of Antigua is a non-profit organisation operating out of St. Johns, Antigua since 2015 They rescue, foster,vet and rehome Antigua’s stray population of dogs and cats In just over 3 years they have rehomed 950 dogs, pups and cats, ,500 of them overseas.

Antigua like many other Caribbean Islands has a staggering population of roaming dogs and strays. With no spay neuter laws in place there are many unwanted and neglected puppies.

Emma was a very pregnant Mama hanging around one of the schools and was brought by two active members to have her pups in safety. Without their intervention Emma would no doubt be one of the many female statistics on the street, dropping litter after litter, none of them surviving and most ending up as traffic fatalities or poisoned.

Emma had a litter of 8 beautiful puppies all of them now rehomed in USA and Canada and now it is Emma’s turn for a good life.

I met Emma and, another lovely Mama, Nellie, with a similar story, whilst holidaying in Antigua and felt they deserved every chance to a new life. Both dogs have a very friendly and gentle nature and have been spayed and had all the medical attention required for travellling to the UK.

The money raised will go towards their transit and if you are able to offer either both or one of these lovely dogs a so very deserving good home, I would be delighted to hear from you.
