After a 10+ year break from running and a previous furthest running distance of about 6 miles, I will proudly be taking part in the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 14th October to raise £2000 towards a specialised garden for patients of the Critical Care Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Being a patient on critical care can be a harrowing experience; the patients can feel isolated, surrounded by noisy machines and equipment, and deprived of natural daylight as it can be weeks or months before they are able to go outside.

The new purpose built garden will provide patients with the opportunity to have access to fresh air and natural light. Recent evidence shows that early rehabilitation can improve patients’ recovery times.

If you could donate even a small amount to help me smash my £2,000 target then I know it will make those last few miles to the finish line so much easier!!!
