Story
The Exhibtion will run over a course Hello My Name is Chantelle Boyle i am creating this Just Giving page for my Solo Exhibition at the Arches Projects in Birmingham on the 27th-30th of May 2019
'Hybrid' is about floating between the Uncanny presences and agonising compositions, Hybrid is a project that develops from destruction. The pieces are showings of physical destruction which reflect upon a more deep and intricate self coping mechanism against pain and the feelings of emptiness and loss. Endearing objects such as stuffed animals are stripped down to what they truly are- a conjunction of stuffing and fabric wth little details like bow ties and sparkling button eyes - and put together to bring new disturbing life. The audience is exposed to a rough, raw reality where there is no opportunity for the aesthetically pleasing but for the externalisation of our everyday piled up feelings. 'Hybrid' is about liberation and soul purification. It is about searching for a way out of emotional defeat. It is coping.
The exhibition includes a wide range of media from (sculpture, video, and performance) that all come together to create characters from stuffed animals and fabrics.
The works underlying narrative comes from grief and loss the loss of a person within someones life the loss of childhood through the alteration of objects such as stuffed toys. This process of grieving and this loss of care the loss of care for an object the toys from ones childhood we also care about these of loss of life.
The fundraising for this event is all about showcasing my work in a public art gallery- The Arches project in Birmingham as this is my first solo exhibition in a public art space there are costs. The money i raise from this just giving page will help me with the overall expense of the exhibition from the cost of the pieces to venue hire of 250 pound, to transportation costs and the creation of posters and flyers. Also the private view costs of staff and refreshments which all in all for an emerging artist is quite an expense
The exhibition will take place over a course of 4 days from the 27th-30th of May and the private view will take place on the 27th of May. The campaign will run until then.
As i am an emerging artist i believe that this is an amazing opportunity to publicize my artwork and showcase what i am creating within the art world. This exhibition will help me as an artist and an art student. Recently i have had an opportunity to work within an art gallery Ort art gallery to gain experience within the art world.
I will be taking all donations for the project in the hope that i can fulfill my dream of becoming a successful artist and know that some people support me in this hard industry. I am extremely grateful for any support that i receive during the course of the project and to those who have read my story.
Thank you so much for your support !!
