My name is Charlotte Maxted, im a 3rd year Nursing Student at BCU,who has a keen intrest in supporting and helping those less fortunate, those in need of medical attention that cant afford it.Volunteering abroad will be an invaluable expeience as a Student nurse.

Public healthcare in Peru is generally poor and insufficient, largely due to a serious lack of funding. Public hospitals are subject to long waiting times, and those with minor health concerns often have to wait months for an appointment.

In March 2019 Im embarking on a volunteering Journey in Lima and Cusco in Peru. I will be supporting other clinicans in providing basic medical screening , treatment and education. A MEDLIFE Mobile Clinic brings free, high-quality healthcare directly to communities who lack access to basic health services. Staffed by local practitioners, clinics offer basic medical treatment and preventative screens and are designed to find patients who are in need of long-term assistance. Volunteers shadow medical professionals, help in the running of the clinic and learn about local medical practices, global medicine and the effect of poverty on health.

My reason for this fundraiser is not to support me in the cost of contributing to the Volnteering organisation MEDLIFE.But im asking you to support me in the cost of flights to Peru. As im sure your aware being a student has its difficulties with regards to fiance.
