    Story

We are attempting to set up the Alan Barlow Legacy Trust in honour of our amazing father.

Our dad passed away on the 9/1/2019 aged 81. He was an amazing, selfless and caring and he had a huge heart of gold.

Throughout his life he raised money for many various charities from Bernados, Merryfields Special school and many Christmas toy appeals. He set up the Dale farm running club who went on to run many different races and raising thousands of pounds for their chosen charities. Dad also organised for disabled people to be pushed by teams of 3 runners around the Potteries marathon, this gave the option for local charities to raise money for their various causes. Dad also ran quite a few and he pushed his dear friend Jake Plant round, they managed to stop at every pub on route and went in shaking their buckets for money.

Dad also helped to set up Charities accross Staffordshire and Cheshire, these were the bionic workshop (now the north Staffordshire orthopedic research foundation), the Rebecca Owen spinal trust and North Staffs holiday homes for the disabled.

He worked tirelessly for the majority of his adult life to help local people who were in need of support.

Because of how dad instilled this belief into us as a family we feel that we should continue the journey that dad started and in his honour we are calling it the Alan Barlow Legacy Trust.

To be able to register as a legitimate charity we have to raise £5,000 then we can organise for the trust to be registered with the Charity‘s Commision.

We have made this our vision and we will be doing various things throughout the year to raise money. I will be running the Potters arf and many other races and my husband will be completing the tough mudder.

We are also using this page for any people who would like donate money at the funeral instead of flowers.

All the funds raised will go to local charities that dad has supported over the years. The Donna Louise, Young carers and the North Staffordshire orthopedic foundation plus more as we progress.

Please help to donate even if it is 50p, every bit helps.
