As people are now aware, we as a community have lost our '' Lady Boothtown ''

Sadly Vicky Robertshaw has passed away and I have been inundated with people wanting to leave donations, raise money etc. So I have put it all in once place.

In brief, Vicky was the pinnacle of Boothtown, for many many years she worked tirelessly to make the community a better place.

From the building of the POD, a football ground court to making football teams and sending children away on breaks to learn football skills.

Vicky also launched the Community charity shop on Boothtown road and worked closely with all dignitaries around Calderdale.

I worked closely with Vicky with the POD and also the speed awareness and traffic calming measures at Claremount.

Vicky no matter what she put her hand too made things work, she wouldn't take no grief of any councillor and ensured she spoke for the community.

Overall, Vicky was a diamond, and helped people in so many ways, and so many different projects. We all have our special connections and meanings to why we loved her work and her as a person so much.

The money that is donated will be split as per -

1) Flowers to be arranged via Boothtown Football Club which was very close to Vicky.

2) Money raised will also go to the charity at the community shop

3) All other monies raised will be held at the group Claremount and Boothtown Community for future projects (ie parks/youth clubs etc and so on)

I was only speaking with Vicky couple of months ago about moving things forward with her and i'm gutted she wont be involved now! But I'm sure she will be watching over me and guiding me on the path to which made her a brilliant lady.

We are all going to miss her in our ways. Again our thoughts and prayers are with Douglas, family and friends.
