Libby came to live with us last year and we were so happy for her to be part of my life. I had saved up for her and was so excited. After being with us for 3 months she started struggling and was bucking and struggling to trot and canter. We tried all the normal things - saddle,back, teeth etc but eventually we had to undergo an investigation. A well known and trusted local vet stated it was Sacrillioac and to inject her with corticosteroids and anabolic steroids. This only worked briefly and for a short time she could be ridden comfortably. This soon wore off so the vet injected her again just 3 weeks later. Libby started going down hill and lost weight and all the hair on her face. I was told by numerous people to put her down but the thought was unbearable. My toddler used to sit on her back and cuddle her - I couldn't do it. After turning her away for 6 months I asked for a second opinion. The first vet had got it totally wrong and instead the problem is in her leg but to pin point and treat she needs an MRI. There is no insurance money now as it was all used on the wrong diagnosis and she is no longer insured. I have no idea how to fund this other than ask for the kindness and generosity of strangers. So if anyone can put something towards this I would be eternally grateful as we just don't have the money to pay for the MRI and following treatment. I will keep this girl until she is longer capable of being out in the field pain free but I dream of making her better. I love her to pieces and would do anything for her. Thank you for your time. X
