Welcome to the Maxwell Centre, a community centre based in the heart of Dundee’s Coldside. We are committed to improving the quality of life for the local community and to combating social exclusion, poverty, disadvantage, and discrimination. The centre provides a welcoming and supportive environment in which individuals can learn valuable skills and access essential information. We work with community members to ensure that they are actively involved in the development and provision of services to meet their changing needs. By working in partnership with a variety of local organisations, we are able to provide a wide range of classes, advice and information services, and support groups. From welfare advice to community gardening, art groups to I.T. classes, the Maxwell Centre aims to empower members of our community to improve their quality of life. Our work has been recognised through the winning of several awards, including SURF (Scotland’s Independent Regeneration Network) 2014 award for Infrastructure and Social Benefit, ‘Spirit of the Community Award’, and ‘It’s Your Community’ award.
