Story
Cool to be Kind was established in 2015 by four friends who wanted to help the homeless and rough sleepers on the streets in Chelmsford. In the early days we gave warm clothes and sleeping bags to rough sleepers on the streets, today we have grown into the main group helping rough sleepers in Chelmsford. We are organised and have many volunteers helping in a structured way. We still give warm clothes and sleeping bags to those in need, in addition we provide hot food and signpost people to the services available. We lobby the City Council to adopt the 'Housing First' model which has been successful in other Cities and Countries around the world. The money raised is ONLY spent on directly supporting the homeless. We have a storage facility which is run by volunteers, we would really like a van to get food and clothing to rough sleepers quicker, all donations will spent wisely.
