It's a special cold unit with a basket where parents can place their stillborn child. The cold helps preserve the body. With the "cuddle cot", parents can bring their baby home rather than have the baby's body sent straight to the hospital morgue. They can take as much time as they need to say goodbye.

A cuddle cot made a huge difference to me personally with the loss of my baby girl Sophia. However as we had the only cuddle cot in our local hospital had any other parents suffered the same loss as us they wouldnt have had the opportunity to take their baby home and spend time at home with their baby as we did. Therefore we want to raise enough funds to ensure all hospitals in Northern Ireland have access to more than 1 cuddle cot each in order to be able to provide families with the best resources to help them grieve and be able to spend much needed time with their babies following their passing.
