Story
As some of you may know, Orlagh McNally and I are heading out to Nairobi, Kenya in September as part of the Cuidiú project.
"Cuidiú" is the Irish translation of "help".
This project is intended to help support the rehabilitation of Street boys in Nairobi. 10 years ago residential accommodation was set up to house 80 boys aged between 8-17 to encourage them to come off the dangerous streets of Nairobi. There they receive food and shelter as well as support in dealing with addictions. Running costs have been significant and the dormitory now needs to be upgraded. Therefore the main goal this year is to begin the upgrade of the street boys accommodation.
