Story
This is our little fur baby Roo. He is only 18 months old and is in urgent need of spinal surgery to prevent his back legs ending up paralysed . (He has IVDD) The pet hospital that we’ve been referred to are charging £6000+ which is absolutely impossible for me to get together. How they can expect people to find that kind of money upfront is beyond me. His insurance won’t even cover a CT scan. I have taken him to the charitable vets and they are unable to help due to it being specialist surgery. I can’t explain how heartbroken I am that I’m unable to help him.. I’ve rang around charities regarding grants etc but I just ain’t getting anywhere. French bulldogs normally suffer with this when they are a lot older, once again making us one of the unlucky bunch. If he doesn’t have the surgery his spine will just keep getting worse and more ruptures can occur leading to paralysis. How can this happen to such a young dog?!
For those who don’t know me, we got Roo a few months after my son Riley passed away. It may sound silly to some but I feel like in a way I’m going through that heartbreak all over again. I called him Roo after Riley, (Riley Roo) and he really did bring back some happiness in our home. Not only that, my little boy Freddy adores him.. which is making this so much harder for me when I’m completely helpless.
To all the dog lovers out there, if you would like to make a small contribution we would be beyond grateful. Every penny helps.
UPDATE
Hi all..so I’ve spoken to the place that was gonna do Roos surgery and it’s gone from costing around 6 grand to now 12 grand. Realistically that is just IMPOSSIBLE for me to raise. I’ve just taken him to the vets and they have recommended us to carry on with plenty of crate rest and then to start some hydrotherapy & physio. This is still gonna cost around 2 thousand pound to do the full courses of both. Raised up to now is an amazing £1050!!! So I’m gonna end the crowdfunding page and if anybody would like their money back please don’t feel like you can’t ask me. But the money is still going to treatment for him, just not a cure. It will prevent his legs from going paralysed for a much longer amount of time so I’m still extremely hopeful & counting my blessings ❤️ I’ll still leave the tombola up for the people who wanted tickets when they’re paid 😘 Thank you so much to everybody who has helped me and Roo, we couldn’t be more grateful ❤️❤️❤️ xxx
Please help me get my baby better xxx
