When you have a friend and they would never ask so we will!

Please help us raise money for our friend Mel, who at the age of 36 is living with incurable stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to her liver and spine. She still manages to have a smile on her face every day despite dealing with ongoing treatment.

Mel has just undergone a second lot of gruelling chemotherapy. Incurable cancer means she will never be free of treatment to suppress and manage the cancer, for the rest of her life! She will always be attending numerous hospital appointments, regular check ups which include blood tests, CT and MRI scans, not to mention the amount of treatment and medicine she will need. All this and yet she never moans and continues to be positive and up beat every day! What a bloody hero!

Ongoing treatment means that Mel hasn't been able to work at all this year and such is life - things cost money. Whether that's complimentary treatments like reflexology and reiki or the basics like the rent on her little cottage. Or just the simple things we all need like meeting a friend for a coffee and a catch up.

If we could raise enough money so that Mel doesn’t have to worry about the financial costs of all these things, we would be eternally grateful.

She is going to hate us when she realises we are raising money for her, but we hope that in doing so it will ease the financial burden that cancer brings, and make her life a little more stress free. If we do this together and show her how much we all care about her then surely she can’t be mad with us all right?!

“Just Giving” is so much more than just giving someone the same money you might usually spend on lunch and there is certainly nothing just about living with cancer, not that you will EVER hear our friend moan or complain about it.

Mel will always have a smile on her face and keeps doing what she loves; laughing, singing, performing, loving life, walking her beloved dogs, travelling and all the things in between.

Please dig deep for such a lovely caring girl who would be the first to donate if the tables were turned.
