As a survivor of Domestic Abuse that left me with a variety of disabilities being able to finally be in a place where i can help other survivors is extremely important to me and something i am super passionate about. I have been volunteering in refuge for quite a while and have just moved over to volunteer for Nottinghamshire Women's Aid. They cover a huge area but as ever funding is a constant pressure. Being able to do this course will not only enable me to facilitate this programme as a volunteer within Nottinghamshire Women's Aid - saving them money but will also enable me to facilitate the course privately - of course for free. It will further my knowledge of Domestic Abuse and help me take part in public speaking to further raise awareness. Nottinghamshire Woman's Aid supported me when I needed it and I wouldn't be where i am today without their help and support through my court case and personal journey. this is why it is so important for me to volunteer for them and hopefully find funding for this course. i hope you might consider supporting me in my first step to giving back.
