    Story

In June 2019, I am heading out with a group to Uganda to work with a charity called Chilli Children in Kisiizi Hospital!

The charity is working to improve the lives of Children in the Rukungiri area and my team plan to support the charity with our clinical and organisational knowledge in supporting the children of Kisiizi.

A beautiful community, both physically and spiritually, who have already proven their innovative nature following recent disasters. Flooding in this area had the potential of destroying the progress this community has made, but instead of letting it over power them, these incredible people turned the raging waters into a hydropower plant providing energy to the area.

Our goal is to support these wonderful people with some education on our western methods for medicine, life saving skills and techniques from pain management in surgeries to hygiene and infection control with simple techniques. Collaborating with the nursing school of Kisiizi Hospital we can together change the prognosis for so many of these children, many of whom are orphaned and/or suffer with debilitating physical deformities.

Through your support of donating to my cause, I can travel to Uganda with hopefully enough baggage allowance to carry over some medical equipment that could change the lives of hundreds of people. I can volunteer my experience and skills to support this fantastic community and give them a means of self reliance to better their chances of continuing to survive in their challenging world.

Thankyou for your support and I will be starting a blog (which I will attach) to track the progress of the scheme and update you all with photos and stories of what we experience in Kisiizi! :)

If you wish to donate still please contact me via email Dannie_cooper@hotmail.co.uk This is so that all of your funds go directly to the charity rather than having a percentage taken by JustGiving... we are now extremely close to our total. Of the £1200 total, have managed to raise all but £85! All with gift aid being added also this is giving a HUGE boost to our funds and we will get all of the people and equipment we need over to Rukungiri. So to anyone that has donated to the cause rest assured your money will be changing lives.
