I ran the Brighton marathon in April (time 4h22m) to raise money for a local community group who are concerned about speeding traffic on residential roads in the Holmes Avenue area of Hove. The speed limit in this area is 20mph but drivers are frequently seen driving in excess of this.

I walk this route on my way to work each morning. I know firsthand how fast some of the drivers travel down these roads at a time of day when schoolchildren are on their way to/from the three local schools in the area.

Funds raised will be used by the group to:

- Place reminder signs along the roadside

- With a little more funding and council permission, two electronic signs will be bought and put up. These flash up a reminder when a vehicle approaches them
