My Dad started his journey to battle T cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in April 2016, he had intensive chemo and was virtually in hospital most of the year.

In September 2016 we thought our prayers had been answered when he was offered a stem cell transplant from a donor who was 10/10 match. Things didn’t quite go according to plan and by the end of October he was in intensive care on life support after picking up a nasty infection which he could not fight due to him immune system being compromised but against all odds he made it through, he had to learn how to walk, talk, swallow even clicking the top of a pen was a major effort but he pulled it round.

Unfortunately he has been plagued with one infection after another and his immune system has never had chance to develop, he took copious amounts of tablets to keep him going but remained positive and determined to fight on.

One of the infections my dad developed turned into cancer again, this time an even more aggressive form of Lymphoma so once again he was fighting an unknown battle.

We are therefore still going to be completing the 3 peaks challenge which we originally raised money for to send him and my mum on their dream trip to Australia. Unfortunately this dream now wont become a reality so we will be using the funds to create a special memorial garden in his name.

He loved gardening and this will be a tranquil and peaceful place for us to think about the special times we had together.
