Friends of Dean Drive Park is a community group set up in 2018 to help improve facilities at Dean Drive Park, Wilmslow. We are working with Cheshire East Council and Ansa to fundraise and pay for new playground equipment, new surfacing and trying to introduce some new facilities that will make the area more accessible to the community and encourage a more active lifestyle for all ages.

We are lucky to have beautiful green spaces, wildlife, play and sports facilities within a short drive of our homes. But, let’s not forget what we have just a short walk away. The Dean Drive Park (also known as the Arthur Boon Playing Field) has huge potential as a multi-use outdoor space for everyone; kids, adults, families, groups, dogs and their owners, sports fanatics, wildlife lovers and those who just want a ‘nice sit down’ in the fresh-air!

We are currently fundraising to begin the work that you told us was important at our park event in the summer and through our social media groups. If every family in the local area gave a small donation of £10, we would be well on our way to raising enough money to become a registered charity. Becoming a charity opens up many more opportunities for fundraising to achieve our goal of making Dean Drive Park a well-used and much loved outdoor space for our local community.

Before the end of 2018 we would like to install a bench seat, your donation would help us pay for the seat and also get us started in our quest to become a registered charity.
