Story
I work to support vulnerable artists. Russell Ronnelly Jones was an amazing artist and a quiet, humble man. Often isolated, Russell struggled with a mental health diagnosis and depression. I had the pleasure of working with Russell for 16 years; for 7 of these in collaboration with Brighton's Royal Pavilion & Museums, supporting local Community Engagement. We shared a great passion for creating art. When Russell passed away there was no one to take care of his amazing artworks. Russell had only a few friends, some vulnerable or disabled too.
With permission from his sister (she too lives with disability), myself & my colleagues volunteered to save Russell's paintings.
We would love to give Russell a funeral ceremony fit for an incredibly talented local artist.
We also wish to hold a benefit exhibition to extend our project - to reach and support more vulnerable or disabled artists. Our aim is for Russell's shortened life to give hope and meaning to others.
The first 40 people that donate over £25 will receive a high-quality reproduction print of Russell's artwork.
Please give a thought for those that experience isolation and discrimination. Share our appreciation for Disability Arts. We thank you.

I loved Russells work and reviewed it for Disability Arts Online back in 2009 when he had a show with Creative Future called Unleashed.

Thanks for your work Debbie. We had the privilege to host Russ for a year. Loved his kind, gentle manner, humor and fantastic art. Good memories and many of his pictures hanging on our walls.

Thanks for doing this Debbie. Some great memories of Russ, many hours spent listening to new music he'd found and helping him put together his first CD's. He was a true artist. One in a million X
