This is a close friends status below....i would love if people could help her, even £1 helps if 549 people donated £1 William would be able to be taken out in the car safely with a magnetic vest.

My son gets full mobility and a wheel chair as he is mentally impaired.

He can climb anything get out of anything but has no awareness of danger and would be killed if left un attended he is full 1.1 24/7.

The government do not fund or loan special car seats my dad paid 500 pounds for one to last till he is 12. Some people out there don't have the priverlidge of such help.

He has got to an age where he can get out of his special needs car seat, he then pulls my hair whilst I'm driving,bounces around the car,nearly climbed out the window whilst I was driving. He has no communication and limited understanding so the whole experiance is difficult. I've had to stop driving with him in the car as we will kill ourselfs and others as he will not sit in his seat.

I went to the mobility centre today who put him in a Houdini harness to be told only a very small percentage of children can get out of it. Guess what my son did he's that very small percentage.

So we're told the ONLY thing to keep us safe whilst in the car is a magnetic vest. I called the children's safety centre,spoken to a lovely lady and it sounds like this could work for William. I ask for the price... 549 pounds.

There is no funding for this, no help, the government have taken away most things for disabled adults and children well they have taken away from the vunrable.

There Willing to put life's in danger than loan or provide for car safety . I'm Willing to pay a percentage a month, as yes why should we get stuff for free. I find it utterly shocking that we can have acsess to a wheel chair, even a brand new car (we pay so much a month) but the system is ok for children like William to not be safe when in transport. u have to find that kind of money to keep u safe and others on the road. People may say stay in doors then well why should we. Why haven't we got the right to have freedom and be safe. I pay my road tax and learnt how-to drive when I was 18.

This is not a post for help with money, this is a post for awareness. Breaks my heart what our children have to face on a day to day basis... what us parents have to fight every single day is mentally draining but we keep on. We should NOT have to fight for safety for our children in the UK in 2018 !!!!!
